  • I currently see clients via telehealth using a HIPAA-compliant video platform.

  • During our consultation, we will discuss what brings you in, identify goals for therapy, and I can answer any questions you may have.

  • We prioritize your privacy and confidentiality by using HIPAA-compliant software for all our services and conducting sessions in private settings. However, there are some exceptions to confidentiality, including the obligation to report suspected abuse or neglect of children, elders, or dependent adults, or to prevent a serious threat to anyone’s health or safety. We also ask that you help protect your privacy by joining telehealth sessions from a private location and using headphones, unless you're sharing the space with other participants in the session. When attending couples therapy, I am unable to keep any information confidential between partners. Since you're both in therapy together, your relationship is the primary focus, and withholding the truth can slow down the progress you're able to achieve together.

  • Sessions are recommended on a weekly or bi-weekly basis to ensure more consistent progress towards achieving your treatment goals. Sessions are 50 minutes in length.

  • Please reach out to me via email as soon as you know you need to cancel the appointment. Cancellations or requests to reschedule must be made 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment. If you are unable to keep your appointment for any reason, I require at least 24-hour advance notice or you will be charged for the full session ($160). Insurance doesn’t cover late cancellations.

  • The Federal No Surprises Act is effective as of January 1, 2022. Under the No Surprises Act, individuals who choose not to use their insurance or who are uninsured have the right to request a Good Faith Estimate (GFE), which outlines the expected costs of counseling services. The primary goal of the Federal No Surprises Act is to promote transparency in pricing and reduce the chances of clients receiving unexpected medical bills. This is done by requiring providers to inform clients of the anticipated costs for a service before it is provided. By law, behavioral health care providers must offer a good faith estimate of services to uninsured and self-paying clients upon request. At SolRise Counseling, we provide the cost of services before your first session. However, if you would like a formal Good Faith Estimate, you are entitled to request one, and it will be included in your medical record as required by law. You can learn more about the No Surprises Act here: https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
